Justin Kubatko

Justin KubatkoJustin Kubatko is the sole member and president of Statitudes, LLC. He is also Chief Data Officer at StatMuse Inc. He is perhaps best known for creating the website Basketball-Reference.com, a site that has been hailed by ESPN.com as “the world’s best hoops history site.”

Justin worked for Basketball-Reference.com’s parent company, Sports Reference LLC, from 2007 to 2013. In addition to Basketball-Reference.com, he also designed and built the websites Hockey-Reference.com, Olympics at Sports-Reference.com, College Football at Sports-Reference.com, and College Basketball at Sports-Reference.com.

During Justin’s time at Sports Reference the company received numerous honors. Most notably, TIME magazine recognized Sports Reference as one of the “50 Best Websites” of 2010, and the company won an Alpha Award for “Best Analytics Innovation/Technology” at the 2013 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.

In addition to his web development work, Justin wrote a weekly NBA column for The New York Times from 2010 to 2013 and he has written several pieces for ESPN Insider. Justin also served as a statistical consultant for the Portland Trail Blazers from November 2008 to June 2011.
